cable router config question

I've got an SMC baracade, and I need to know what ports I need to open to host a game. playing in a game works fine, but I would like to be able to host as well.

I set port 17437 open, but my game did not show up.

any help would be appreciated.

ports 7437 and 3855

cheers

okay, I opened both ports(tcp) and I still can't host.
I know that I'm opening the ports correctly as I have other ports open that are functioning normally.
any other ideas?

Are you running any firewall or other security programs?

nothing but the router

Yes, they are 17437 and 3855, but sometimes there is more to it than just the ports. Gamespy has exact instructions for people that have problems. I don't have the exact link, but will post it as soon as I can.

Hi

i got this info of the gamespy thread

6667 (IRC)
80 (HTTP)
3783 (Voice Chat Port)
27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat)

okay, I opened up all those ports even making sure I chose UDP for the UDP ports, and still no dice.

is it possible that there are ranges or response ports that are used or something like that?

Is there anyone at gamespy tech that you all could get in touch with? I'm sure that this is a common problem, seing how widespread cable routers are.

It seems like you are behind a firewall or some other security software if you are needing to open ports.

Gamespy's Support Page is here: http://www.gamespyarcade.com/support/

It has many links and should have your answer but if not, there is a link at the bottom to contact their tech support.

it is very possible your isp's firewall is the culprit. i suggest you call thier tech support

worth a try :)
